Roar into Summer Walkabout

Available as a three-person (Fairy Queen, Fawn and Lion) or two-person (Fawn and Lion) act, please get in touch with us for details.

In a time when the world was young, before the ancient books were written, the forest still covered this island. From amongst the trees, the creatures of Spring would draw back the veil of winter's darkness to dance in the sunlight of Summer's eternal promise and banish the winter from our shores.

Join the Fairy Queen, Maxim the Blossom Lion and Pan the Fawn in a merry procession as they revel in pleasure, ritual, festivity, and madness. Celebrate with them the bountiful return of warm and endless days. Stroke the Blossom Lion for luck and meet the spirit of abundance, new life and celebration. Be sure to step forward for a photo with these magical characters and take in the wonder of a Midsummer Night's Dream.

Sprung from the Greco-Roman tradition of the procession as a festive celebration. Roar into Spring is conceived as a contemporary ritual for all, transforming the every day into the extraordinary.

Suggested Themes

Mid-Summer Night Dream / Garden Parties / Spring & Summer Celebrations / Narnia /  Children's Literary Events / Storybook / Magical Lands.

Testimonials

“The acts were very well received last Saturday and despite the weather being so hot the walkabouts gave it everything and a bit more... please pass on our thanks to them - it really made the day special.”

Lyn Summers, Events Manager

"I just wanted to say how absolutely amazing the Lion was on Sunday. I actually cried when I first saw him – he is so beautiful and magical. Obviously, all the acts we have from you guys are fab but the Lion was outstanding."

-Sarah Jones

Barry Town Centre

"I know that we have had some really exceptional performance animals from Creature Encounters in the past but the appearance of the lion in Westbury on Saturday was the most wonderfully magical event bar none.  It enchanted young and old alike with an added bonus that the three young people concerned were engaging and helpful when not in costume and doing their best to make everything possible. It was a blissful experience for me and the town council team. Thank you so much."

Dinotopia Walkabout

Hosted by the legendary explorer Miss Bonny Voyage or her uncle, the infamous adventurer Captain John Voyage, we invite you to discover the last living dinosaur, Odysseia the Parasaurolophus. We know that’s a mouthful but as Old Captain John would always tell us, “Try saying it when you’re three days into the Amazon, soaked to the bone with tropical rain and suffering from Dengue fever!” Torn from the pages of a Boy's Own adventure and shipwrecked on our shores, the explorers need your help as they study a ruined map in an attempt to return the beast to the late Cretaceous period of The Land that Time Forgot. Failing that, simply offer a friendly hand to Odysseia and help her understand that not all humans are barbaric, savage cavepeople. Whether you join in on the quest or pose for a selfie, you are sure to have a Jurassic lark!

Squawkabout Walkabout

Available as a three-person (2 birds and Explorer) or two-person (1 bird and Explorer) act, please get in touch with us for details.

Hosted by the legendary explorer Ms Bonny Voyage or her uncle, Gentleman of Fortune Captain Jon Voyage, Squawkabout is a rumbustious, romping walkabout exploring the Victorian fascination for collecting. Juxtaposing a forgotten tight-lipped Englishness against the anarchic playful joy of these inquisitive tropical birds of paradise in a vibrant rainbow of colour. Bonny or Jon will be available to answer questions about the flora, fauna and topography of these fabulous birds’ natural habitats and how they came to be at the event in all their glory.

As with all our work, the journey of the child is paramount. Children are invited to move from curiosity to friendship as they help the bird explore her surroundings and marvel at her exotic beauty. All are welcome to make their friendship felt by stepping forward for a bright and brilliant photo. Please remember, this wonderous creature won't bite but she may decide on being friends forever!
