With Jamie away I returned to the workshop for the first time since completing the Nomads and the Prince & the Camel. Four days and nights were poured into metal work, foam sculpture and odd jobs. Controls were refined, techniques reconsidered and a character gained solidity. I feel more connected to this project than any other, it recycles the great loves of my childhood, Henson, Dahl and giant mechanical diggers through the art form that has inspired my adult life. He remains a long way from complete, but I am enjoying every step of the process :)
