Whoop-whoop!
So read the poster in our hotel room in Moscow, where we bought our festive Winter season to a close. After travelling 15000 miles across the UK to deliver Creature Encounter’s wonders to thousands of people at over 70 events. We flew a further 1800 miles to touch down amongst the snow capped onion domes of Russia, to help the Moscovites celebrate as if a “little party never killed no one!” It was as crazy, beguiling, infuriating and stylish a close to our year as we could ever have imagined.
Moscow you crushed our spirit, then stole our hearts.
Here is to 2019, lets go round again!
We are half way through the Christmas season and our teams have already raced across 7000 miles, to reach 33 locations and bring a little bit of Christmas creature magic to thousands of people.
We hope to see you out there in the world underneath the mistletoe!
After more than a decade of leading Creature Encounter Michael & Jamie went their separate ways for Autumn. Seconded to projects outside the Creature’s orbit, they got to experience the pleasure of being smaller cogs within the larger creative wheels of others. Over the last year Michael has been working with Janice Connelly the Artistic Director of Women and Theatre, as a co-devise and puppeteer, to explore the subject of hoarding and the effect it has on those it consumes. After a scratch performance and a development week Birmingham Rep came onboard as co-produces. The resulting in two weeks of rehearsal and one week of production saw Janice and Michael perform 5 sold out shows at The Door.
